The Tanzanian government has agreed to meet with ambassadors from nine countries to discuss complaints made by some investors regarding tax issues, including claims and large tax assessments deemed unrealistic by the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA).
The Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, January Makamba, stated that the meeting will include government officials from the relevant institutions. Therefore, investors facing these challenges are encouraged to submit evidence of their complaints.
The ambassadors who requested this meeting represent the United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands, France, Belgium, Canada, South Korea, Sweden, and Germany.
