President Samia Suluhu Hassan Congratulates Bishop Wolfgang Pisa on His Election as TEC President

 


President Samia Suluhu Hassan has extended her heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency Bishop Wolfgang Pisa, following his election as President of the Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC). Bishop Pisa, the current Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Lindi, was chosen for this significant pastoral role, reflecting the Catholic Church's faith and expectations in his dedicated service.

In her message, President Hassan highlighted the importance of Bishop Pisa's new role, emphasizing the Church's reliance on his leadership. She quoted the Gospel of John 19:28, "…I am thirsty," which Bishop Pisa has chosen as his Episcopal motto, underscoring his commitment to serving the Church and the broader community.

"I pray for your continued dedication to building the Church on the foundations of love, justice, truth, caring for the poor, unity, peace, solidarity, dignity, and serving the community and Tanzanians at large, both within and outside the Catholic Church," President Hassan stated. She expressed her best wishes for Bishop Pisa's success in his new position, hoping that Almighty God will guide and support him in his endeavors.
