Government to Strengthen Support for Academic Research, Says Education Minister



The Minister of Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Adolf Mkenda, has reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting academic research conducted by local university researchers, particularly in the field of science, to further the development of the education sector in the country.

Speaking during a recognition ceremony for Prof. Karim Manji, a lecturer at the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS), who was recently honored by Harvard University for his contributions to research, Prof. Mkenda emphasized the government's intention to continue backing academic excellence and innovation in universities.

Prof. Mkenda outlined the government's goals to enhance its support for academic efforts, noting that this recognition reflects Tanzania’s capacity for high-quality research. The government, he said, is dedicated to fostering an environment where research can thrive and contribute to national development.
