Musalia Mudavadi Appointed Acting National Security Minister as Prof. Kindiki Prepares for Swearing-In as Deputy President

Kenya's top-ranking official, Musalia Mudavadi, has been appointed as the Acting National Security Minister following the reassignment of Prof. Kithure Kindiki to the role of Deputy President. This appointment comes just hours after an official government gazette announcement confirmed that Prof. Kindiki will be sworn in as Deputy President on Friday.

Prof. Kindiki was selected for the Deputy President position following the removal of Rigathi Gachagua. According to the October 31, 2024, government gazette, Kindiki’s swearing-in ceremony will take place at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) on November 1, 2024, between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
