Experts from the Ministry of Water, along with representatives from the World Bank, inspected the Sange Water Project and Masaika Health Dispensary in Pangani District, expressing satisfaction with the progress made.
The inspection is part of ongoing monitoring of water and sanitation projects funded through the Program-for-Results (PforR) initiative within the Water Sector. The Sange Water Project, valued at Tsh 540 million, is currently 90% complete and has begun providing clean water to local residents.
Key components of the project include the construction of a 5,000-liter water storage tank, a water pumping station, 13 public water points, and the installation of over 9,900 meters of water pipes.
At Masaika Health Dispensary, the sanitation improvement project involved building an incinerator, a handwashing station, staff toilets, patient toilet facilities, a water tower, and the procurement of a water storage tank.
Pangani District now boasts a 92% access rate to safe and clean water. Residents expressed their gratitude to President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan's government for its continued financial support to ensure water access for all.
