Local residents rushed to the scene, using their hands and small tools to rescue those trapped under the debris. Reports indicate that many students were in their classrooms when the building collapsed, adding to the severity of the situation.
The cause of the collapse is yet to be determined. However, residents noted that heavy rainfall had been experienced in the Plateau area for three consecutive days, which may have contributed to the building's structural failure.
