Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry returns to the horror genre with her role in Alexandre Aja's *Never Let Go*. Drawing upon her personal experiences as a mother, Berry was attracted to the film's exploration of generational trauma, a theme that resonated deeply with her.
"That's what interested me about it," Berry said. "It's not just a psychological thriller or a horror film. It's really about the cycle of generational trauma and how if we don't sort of get healed, we just pass it along and along."
The film's dark and intense subject matter presented a challenging acting process for the cast. However, Berry's co-stars embraced the complexity of their roles. "I do love the challenge," said Anthony B. Jenkins, who plays the role of Berry's character's son. "It's not really just about a thriller. It's not really just about a family trying to stay away from the bad. It's really about the love of the family."
*Never Let Go* is set to premiere in most cinemas in late September, with additional releases in countries like Brazil and Spain in October, and Turkey in December.
