A 59-year-old interior designer has drawn attention after purchasing a $395,000 oceanfront home on Cape Cod, despite warnings that the property is at risk of falling into the ocean. Originally listed for $1.195 million, the home’s price was drastically reduced due to its location just 25 feet from a rapidly eroding cliff.
The buyer, undeterred by the danger, explained that life is too short to pass up such a unique opportunity, even if the home's future is uncertain. Coastal experts have cautioned that parts of Cape Cod are losing over three feet of coastline annually. While aware of these risks, the new homeowner remains unfazed, embracing the potential impermanence of his seaside retreat.
