Minister for Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups, Dr. Dorothy Gwajima, has handed over equipment valued at TZS 500 million to over 40,000 women and girls in Songwe and Mbeya. The donation, provided by HJFMRI through the DREAMS project and funded by the U.S. PEPFAR, aims to boost their economic activities and reduce their risk of HIV exposure.
During the handover on September 10, 2024, in Mbeya, Dr. Gwajima called on local authorities to ensure more girls benefit from the initiative, which will increase opportunities and market access for their products. She also expressed gratitude to stakeholders and the government for their collaboration in supporting economic empowerment and community welfare efforts.
