President of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has emphasized the critical role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in advancing education and global development.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan Girls' Secondary School in Namtumbo District, Ruvuma Region, the President highlighted the ongoing global shift towards modern technologies. She urged students to take advantage of the school's ICT facilities to gain in-depth knowledge of these technologies.
“The world is now moving towards artificial intelligence, or ‘unde intelligence,’ as I prefer to call it. We will rely less on pens and paper, with many activities taking place online. Academic answers to many questions are now available on the internet. Students, make use of tools like Google and ChatGPT to find solutions to your studies. If you study well, you’ll discover that the key to many answers is online. You must seize this opportunity wisely,” President Samia stated.
Her remarks underscore the Tanzanian government's commitment to integrating advanced technology in education to prepare students for a future driven by digital transformation and innovation.
