Minister for Information, Communication, and Information Technology, Jerry Silaa, has dissolved the board of directors of Tanzania Standard Newspapers (TSN) Limited. TSN, wholly owned by the Government of Tanzania, is known for publishing authoritative newspapers, including the Daily News, HabariLEO, and SpotiLEO.
TSN and its outlets maintain a strong digital presence across multiple platforms such as websites, X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
The decision to dissolve the board was made effective from September 18, 2024. This move was carried out in accordance with the Public Corporations Act No. 2 of 1992, as stated in a release by Isabela Katondo, the Acting Head of the Ministry's Communication Unit.
