New Film "1992" Honors Late Actor Ray Liotta and Reflects on the Los Angeles Uprising

Thirty-two years after the 1992 Los Angeles riots, a new film titled *1992* brings the tumultuous events back to the screen, following the lives of two father-son duos during the uprising. The movie, produced by Snoop Dogg and Tyrese Gibson, stars the late Ray Liotta in one of his final roles before his passing in 2022.

At the film's premiere, Karsen Liotta, daughter of the *Goodfellas* legend, walked the red carpet in honor of her father. Reflecting on his legacy, she expressed her hope that the world would continue to remember Ray Liotta for his "work ethic and dedication" to his craft. "He was really, I guess he was an icon, pretty iconic, beautiful, respectful, respected, dedicated work," she said.

*1992* features Tyrese Gibson alongside Scott Eastwood and Ray Liotta. The film, executive produced by Snoop Dogg's Death Row Pictures, is set against the backdrop of the 1992 Los Angeles riots. Gibson plays a young father striving to rebuild his life and relationship with his son, only to find himself entangled with another father-son pair in the midst of a high-stakes heist.

Gibson, who has an upcoming album set to release this year, spoke about his current approach to success. "At this point, my joy, my high, it's that I'm not chasing the benchmark," he shared. Instead, he is focusing on projects like *1992* that resonate deeply with him.

The premiere took an emotional turn when Gibson's *Fast and the Furious* co-star Vin Diesel surprised him on the red carpet. The two shared a heartfelt moment, later joined by co-star Michelle Rodriguez for a group photo. Diesel expressed his support for Gibson, saying, "We're at this really interesting time right now in Hollywood. And the first people I'm going to support is a family that's been recognized by the world, the 'Fast' family. I got to just support that and encourage him to continue his artistry because I think he's so good."

*1992* is set to be released on August 30.
