Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has directed the Chief Executive Officer of the Tanzania Electrical, Mechanical, and Electronics Services Agency (TEMESA), Lazaro Kilahala, to submit a list of all government institutions that owe the agency. The Prime Minister plans to issue letters to these institutions, urging them to settle their debts promptly.
Majaliwa issued the directive on August 20, 2024, while opening the Third Government Drivers’ Forum in Arusha. He emphasized the importance of timely debt payments to ensure that TEMESA can maintain and repair government vehicles effectively and safely.
“Heads of institutions, wherever you are, whether you're here or listening through the media, make sure you pay your debts to TEMESA. If you pay them, your vehicle repairs will be done in a timely manner,” Majaliwa stated.
The Prime Minister also commended TEMESA for its modern vehicle repair equipment and urged the agency to enhance innovation and integrity to improve the efficiency of government vehicle maintenance.
