The Tanzanian Minister of Livestock and Fisheries, Abdallah Ulega, held talks with China’s Minister of Customs, Yu Jianhua, to explore ways to enhance bilateral trade cooperation, particularly in the livestock and fisheries sectors. The meeting took place in Dar es Salaam and is part of ongoing efforts to build on agreements made during a previous summit between Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Minister Ulega emphasized that the discussions aimed at continuing the progress made during the presidential meeting, focusing on expanding trade opportunities between the two countries. He highlighted the significant potential for trade in livestock and fisheries products with China, stating that Tanzania is poised to take full advantage of these opportunities to boost both national and individual economic growth.
China’s Minister of Customs, Yu Jianhua, underscored the high demand for fish and meat products in China, stressing the importance of strengthening trade relations between the two nations to maximize the benefits from these markets.
This meeting marks another step towards deepening the economic partnership between Tanzania and China, with a focus on sectors vital to Tanzania's economic development.
