Parliamentary Committee on Education, Culture, and Sports Reviews Progress on National Sports Academy Infrastructure and Kiswahili Promotion



The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Culture, and Sports, led by its Chairperson, Hon. Husna Sekiboko, received and discussed a report from the Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Sports on August 19, 2024. The report, presented by the Minister for Culture, Arts, and Sports, Hon. Dr. Damas Ndumbaro, focused on the ongoing construction of infrastructure for the National Sports Academy in Malya and strategies for promoting the use of the Kiswahili language both within and outside Tanzania.

The discussions centered on the progress of the Malya National Sports Academy, which is a key project aimed at enhancing the development of sports in the country. The Committee also reviewed the ministry’s efforts to advance the use of Kiswahili, recognizing the language’s growing importance on the global stage.

The Committee emphasized the significance of these initiatives in bolstering Tanzania's cultural heritage and improving the country's sports infrastructure, which is expected to have a long-term impact on national development.
