A group of UK celebrities, led by a newly-bearded Prince William, have publicly congratulated Team Great Britain for their remarkable performance at the Paris Olympics. The celebratory message was shared in a video posted on the X (formerly Twitter) account of the Prince and Princess of Wales, where rapper and Olympics correspondent Snoop Dogg initiated the well wishes.
The video features Catherine, Princess of Wales, who expressed her pride by saying, “From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB.” Prince William followed with, “Well done on all you’ve achieved. You’ve been an inspiration to us all.”
Joining the royal couple in the video were other prominent figures, including soccer legend David Beckham and TV presenter Emma Willis, who added their praise for the athletes' dedication and success.
The post on X read: “Well done @TeamGB, what an incredible journey! Every athlete showed immense dedication, heart, and passion. You made us all so proud! Here’s to celebrating every triumph at @Paris2024 and looking forward to more from @ParalympicsGB later in the summer.”
While the focus was on the athletes' achievements, Prince William's new bearded look also drew significant attention, appearing alongside Kate, who has made limited public appearances since announcing her cancer diagnosis in March.
Team Great Britain finished the Paris Olympics with an impressive haul of 65 medals, further solidifying their reputation as one of the world’s top sporting nations.
