Tanzania is poised to advance its technological infrastructure with the construction of the country's first Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics information storage centre. This groundbreaking project, funded by the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), is currently in the planning stages and represents a significant milestone in the nation’s digital development.
The announcement was made by BADEA President Dr. Sidi Ould Tah during a meeting with Tanzania’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, on the sidelines of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Ministers' meeting in Harare, Zimbabwe.
While the centre marks a major step forward for Tanzania's digital landscape, detailed specifics about the project have yet to be disclosed. Dr. Tah emphasized the importance of completing the necessary establishment procedures to ensure the project’s timely implementation.
This initiative aligns with Tanzania’s broader goals of enhancing technological capabilities and positioning itself as a leader in digital innovation in the region.
