Seamstresses Prepare Costumes for Paris 2024 Olympics Closing Ceremony

In preparation for the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, seamstresses in France have been diligently crafting costumes using recycled materials. The ceremony, scheduled for Sunday, will feature the athletes’ parade and the symbolic handover of the Olympic flag to the Los Angeles 2028 organizers.

Designer Kevin Germanier shared that the 120 costumes for the event are made from unconventional materials, such as VHS tapes and damaged pearls, symbolizing imperfection and creativity. The ceremony, directed by Thomas Jolly, will include over a hundred performers, acrobats, dancers, and circus artists, encapsulating the Olympic spirit as "the sum of humanity."

The closing ceremony will take place from 21:00 to 23:30 at the Stade de France in Paris, following the innovative opening ceremony along the Seine River.
