Defending champions of the Tanzanian Premier League, Yanga SC, claimed the 2024 Community Shield with an emphatic 4-1 win over Azam FC at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on August 11, 2024.
Azam FC initially took the lead with a goal from Feisal Salum “Fei Toto,” but Yanga SC quickly responded. Prince Dube equalized for Yanga, followed by an own goal from Yoro Diaby, and additional goals from Stephane Aziz Ki and Clement Mzize sealed the victory.
Yanga SC reached the final after defeating Simba SC 1-0, while Azam FC secured their spot with a 5-2 win over Coastal Union. This victory further cements Yanga's dominance in Tanzanian football as they prepare for the upcoming season.
