The government, through the Ministry of Finance, has been requested to ensure effective management and distribution of loans intended for women, youth, and special groups to ensure they reach the intended beneficiaries.
This appeal was made by Diana Venant, Chairperson of the Tunaweza Group, after a financial education seminar conducted by officials from the Ministry of Finance's Financial Sector Development Department aimed at enabling participants to increase their business capital and achieve economic independence.
"If the government properly oversees the loan distribution process for the intended groups, it will help reduce the problem of exploitative loans. Many people resort to such loans because they are quickly accessible without many conditions," Venant said.
Salim Kimaro, Senior Financial Officer from the Ministry of Finance, noted that the ministry continues to provide financial education to ensure that all citizens have a broad understanding of financial matters, including the importance of saving, maintaining spending discipline, and budgeting.
