President Xi Jinping Meets African Parliamentary Leaders, Emphasizes Cooperation



President Xi Jinping met with Tanzanian Parliament Speaker and IPU President Dr. Tulia Ackson, alongside other African parliamentary leaders, in Beijing to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the NPC's affiliation with the IPU and discuss Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for developing countries.

Xi welcomed the leaders from various continents, highlighting their shared membership in the Global South. He stressed the importance of cooperation to advocate for a fair, multi-polar world and inclusive economic globalization. Xi also emphasized the role of legislative bodies in fostering state-to-state relations, mutual trust, and global governance.

Dr. Tulia and other leaders praised China for its efforts in poverty reduction and development, citing the country as a model for other developing nations. They also expressed support for China’s global initiatives, pledging to strengthen partnerships and uphold multilateralism.
