Zambia Assures Tanzania of Support in SADC Organ Troika Leadership Transition



The President of the Republic of Zambia, H.E. Hakainde Hichilema, has assured the United Republic of Tanzania of continued cooperation as the country prepares to take over the chairmanship of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Organ on Politics, Defence, and Security. President Hichilema, whose term as the outgoing chair for the 2023/2024 period is coming to an end, pledged to fulfill his responsibilities and support Tanzania in the leadership transition.

In his remarks, President Hichilema expressed his gratitude for the cooperation he received during his tenure and conveyed his confidence in Tanzania's ability to successfully lead the SADC Organ Troika.

"I would like to assure my sister, the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan, and her team of my full cooperation. I have confidence that you will lead the Organ to greater achievements, just as you have done in other responsibilities entrusted to you," said President Hichilema.
